Xtra Super Food Center Florida Store List



     Xtra Super Food Center was a chain of large-format supermarkets that operated in South and Central Florida, owned by Puerto Rico-based grocery operator Pueblo International. Xtra Super Food Center stores were unique due to their size (reaching nearly 80,000 square feet - some of the largest supermarkets to ever operate in Florida) and wide assortment of Hispanic-oriented products in a large warehouse-style environment to keep prices low. The first Xtra Super Food Center opened in a former Gold Triangle building across from Hialeah's Westland Mall in 1983, with the chain growing to 11 locations before it met its demise in 1996.
