...Interesting that there was a SupeRx in Florida.
That company had two parts, different legal companies, same name, SupeRx of Arizona, Alabama, and Georgia and then the rest of the company, which I bet this was part of that. Up north they used to build SupeRx besides Kroger stores, kind of like Eckerd/Publix partnership, although Kroger owned SupeRx until spinning them off.
Interesting fact that SupeRx of A,A,G got caught up in the Keating 5 scandal involving Lincoln Savings and Loan; I cannot recall if it was direct or indirect financing of SupeRx operations but lack of capital drove them to C11 early 1990. Moving further north would have created some buffer from Barnes & Noble next door, whose opening probably attributed to the move (and why BAM left so quickly). The Post Commons and Viera BAM stores co-existed for a while, although the Viera store ultimately superseded the Post Commons one.Albertsons Florida Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17350708223049245195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5893799636127751150.post-17097131519296187112021-02-13T20:50:03.013-05:002021-02-13T20:50:03.013-05:00There is at least one Jo-Ann in the Houston area w...There is at least one Jo-Ann in the Houston area with a similar flooring design as the one in your post so I think it is safe to assume that Jo-Ann put these floors in. This particular Jo-Ann opened somewhere in between 2011 and 2013. Link: https://goo.gl/maps/3ZMohqLNNABLFE5bA

Jo-Ann's store designs in the Houston area are not very consistent from what I can tell. Of the two closest to me, one has a concrete floor, not a particularly good looking one either even given the range of concrete floors, and an open ceiling, but the other has a plain white tile floor and a drop ceiling. One of those two Jo-Anns seems to have a mix of cart types as well, but I don't see the light green one: https://goo.gl/maps/coTadvTSG4964kqu8

I don't shop at Jo-Ann or their competitors very often, but I have been there a couple of times. Out of all the former tenants that sat in the Jo-Ann which is the subject of this blog post, I'd probably pick Phar-Mor. I used to enjoy doing power buying at the Phar-Mors around here in Houston, lol. They had a really awesome movie rental department back in the day as well that was full of mirrored walls and neon. It was a neat place to be. The rest of the store was nothing special I suppose for a discount store, but there were good deals to be had there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5893799636127751150.post-54541873988258801282021-02-13T15:03:04.949-05:002021-02-13T15:03:04.949-05:00Funny -- my local Jo-Ann also opened up during the...Funny -- my local Jo-Ann also opened up during the recession, taking over a former World Market. And like this one, it, too, has a variety of carts, including those old dark green ones and the new lime green ones.Retail Retellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12636351832804174132noreply@blogger.com
